Position Summary:

We're looking for a Senior Media Planning Executive to work across the ITV Business. The Media Planning Senior Executive supports team deliverables across the campaign lifecycle by collating, managing and analysing data from internal and external sources. They use industry and proprietary research tools to uncover insights to feed into planning decisions and compile historical data to ensure previous campaign learning is incorporated into new plans.

They collaborate closely with Client Services, Activation and Ad Operations to traffic and launch campaigns and ensure plans are billed correctly. Media Planning Senior Executives stay close to the plan during the live phase to support the optimisation of performance in-flight. They demonstrate sound working knowledge of the overall media landscape.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
  • Help support the wider team to ensure the smooth delivery of campaigns and their performance against agreed outcomes.
  • Conduct research and compile data to guide and support planning and optimisation recommendations.
  • Articulate planning recommendations to internal/external stakeholders via multiple formats (Status meetings/email/presentation)
  • Compile and validate creative specs. Collaborate with creative agency partners to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Collaborate with Activation teams to complete the detail of the plan in Olive.
  • Solve for any Olive issues.
  • Create trafficking sheet templates and collaborate with Ad Operations through campaign launch.
  • Own reporting lifecycle and analysis to be delivered to client on a regular basis
  • Interfacing and answering planning questions from client in weekly status meetings/email/ping
  • Assist in the management of CAPs (test and learn plans) for assigned campaigns.
  • Contribute to internal case studies for the sharing of learning and best practice.
  • Meet with vendors and attend presentations to improve knowledge of the media landscape.


Competencies (specific knowledge, skills and abilities):
  • Comfortable in delivering presentations to both internal/external stakeholders
  • Basic spreadsheet capability (VLOOKUP, Pivot Table) is highly desirable
  • Ability to work proactively and autonomously when coordinating client requests and deliverables
  • Able to create presentations, in slides or document format.
  • Understanding of industry standard media research tools (e.g. Comscore, GWI, TGI, YouGov).
  • Understanding of how Activation works in different media channels.
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills, with the desire to learn and advance.
  • Strong organizational skills, close attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and to collaborate in a team environment.
  • Able to recognise when problems could develop and know when to escalate to managers.


Management Responsibility
  • This position is unlikely to have direct line management responsibility, although the Senior Media Planning Executive may work closely with a junior executive.
  • Train junior executives on day-to-day requirements and work with them to ensure smooth project management
  • Provide timely and actionable feedback to aid junior executive work quality improvement.
  • Develop strong relationships with Activation team to facilitate flawless execution of plans.
  • Communicate effectively across all levels of the team and across all practices.

Required Education and Experience:
  • Proven experience in media at Executive level, with solid understanding of the media landscape.
