About the Team:

Business Science, which encompasses Digital Analytics, is one of the fastest growing fields within MediaCom and focuses on (1) providing data and analytics services to our clients, (2) developing optimal processes for managing data and performing analytics and (3) innovating in methods and algorithms used for data and analytics. MediaCom Business Science gives clients the power and confidence to make smarter investment decisions. The Business Science team supplies a wide range of advanced measurement options to drive business, channel & campaign planning as well as support our teams in developing optimization for clients, helping to set clear action plans for improvement.

Business Science is staffed with a team of professionals trained and dedicated to three specific areas: Cross Channel Measurement, Digital Analytics and Business Consultation. We recognize individual skillset and career aspirations when building teams and creating departmental development opportunities.

About the Role:

This director role will increase our ability to push new and different ways of doing things as predicated on thoughtful test and learn methodologies, improving the use of data across the account, and improving our insights and recommendations.

Your Impact:

The immediate focus of this role will be on the following:

Data
  • Determine and confirm data sources and collection capabilities - to maximize usage and efficiency
  • Per client request, look for opportunities to automate the reporting
    • Currently, not enough analytics bandwith /resources to ensure pure data is being received, which is needed to generate accurate and trustworthy automated reporting

Insights
  • Client would like deeper data driven insights
    • As referenced above, resourced to monitor and analyze data have not been available
  • Work closely with WAG modeling to ensure proper methodology and approach to test & learn opportunities
  • Reference and source best research and analytics tools by project and initiative


Innovation
  • Help team move WAG from ROI focus with sound data and analytics substantiation
    • Currently looking at a more holistic spending approach that would result in greater sales/ROI, while also creating the potential for greater savings
  • Assist team in Systems Planning methodologies - creating a proxy for sales, as WAG is focused on ROI


Research Tools
  • Keep office abreast of latest tools and updates
  • Recommend appropriate tools by task/project, facilitate research/data collection
  • Coordinate appropriate training for office/teams
  • Ensure Chicago office has knowledge of/access to, full palate of tools available to WPP


C hicago Office Growth
  • Network analytics resources are limited for Chicago - this position would play a major role in office growth
    • New Business
    • Substantiate team efforts for organic business


Your Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA a plus
  • 10+ years related work experience.
  • Experience using online research sources and survey techniques ( Comscore , Nielsen, TNS, Jupiter, eMarketer, MRI, etc.)
  • Demonstrated background in both a quantitative and business leadership area.
  • Strong familiarity with statistical concepts and methods.
  • Experience working with SAS experts and output.
