About the role

We are looking for an Analytics Executive to join our growing EMEA team. Reporting into a senior member of the team, you will be given the opportunity to use data creatively and through the application of statistical methods and techniques, generate meaningful insights.

In turn you will be given the opportunity to work in a dynamic and interesting industry and gain a wealth of knowledge and experience in digital marketing, technology and applied analytics. You will work closely with experienced analysts as well as marketers to build the skills you will need to drive our strategy forward.

Some of the things we'd like you to do:
  • Learn about how media marketing works and demonstrate your aspiration around the use of analytics to make advertising more valuable for the consumers.
  • Accountable for quantifying and measuring the success of our executions and for delivering insights that enable us to innovate the work we deliver at Essence.
  • Develop measurement plans that measure campaign effectiveness through experimental design. You will collaborate across departments to ensure accurate implementation.
  • Contribute to the design & build of statistical models to measure cross-media performance of some of our largest clients.
  • Use observational customer data to understand potential drivers of performance.
  • Provide ad hoc reporting and insights through the interrogation of media datasets (typically via a database).
  • Support the wider agency in ensuring that decision making is based on statistically robust data and conclusions.
  • Support the deployment of Learning Agendas. These are the best in class digital measurement and data science programmes which explore and develop cutting edge measurement, optimisation, audience discovery and forecasting tools.

A bit about yourself:
  • A passion for everything media and advertising, coupled with a continued desire to expand your knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills, and an ability to collaborate and engage with those around you
  • Diligent and attentive to detail, able to listen, learn, and put into practice
  • Computer literate with good skills in all basic Office programs (including Excel)
  • A comfort when working with numbers, we use them a lot!
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify business questions, analyse data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations.

Desired:
  • Ideally you will have some experience or education that demonstrates analytical skills such as a quantitative field like Statistics, Engineering, Economics, psychology or communication
  • Some programming experience - ideally with SQL, R or Python. Demonstrate a clear affinity and interest in developing your skills in this area. Any past work done with the use of the programming to create apps and statistical outcomes will be looked at very favourably during the interview process.
