VMLY&R's Brand ID Studio is looking for an Operations Manager to assist the Studio Director in the operational running of the Studio, with a special focus on internal program management and external communications. Its primary function is to empower the Studio's people and manage its resources. This is a role that requires flexibility, multitasking, immaculate record-keeping, clear communication, strong collaboration skills, and a growth mindset to improve the Studio experience for all.

Primary responsibilities include assisting the Director to:

Project management
  • Estimate incoming projects and evaluate resource needs for each
  • Track all current projects and team capacity
  • Maintain systems for keeping project files, tracking leads/new business, and archiving materials
  • Continually optimize processes for project intake, team reporting, and designer onboarding

People management
  • Work with the VMLY&R People team to develop Studio-specific recruiting processes, role descriptions, and success metrics
  • Onboard new Studio team members
  • Manage and grow a stable pool of freelancers/contractors at all levels and in all specialties
  • Create ongoing activities for team skills development, updating as technology and needs change
  • Continually optimize processes for communication and collaboration with a remote team

  • 5+ years of experience in a combination of creative operations, project management, or related field
  • Mastery of organizational tools (e.g. SmartSheet, Asana) and communications tools (e.g. Keynote, Microsoft Office); working knowledge of design software (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite) is optional but recommended
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Excellent internal and external communication skills
  • Ability to keep up with evolving trends and technology as needed
