Position Overview

The Accounting & Finance Associate Director functions as the Controller for a business unit , supporting the Director within the Corporate Accounting & Finance team of GroupM .

Responsibilities
  • Ownership of the monthly close of a business unit, including preparation of the balance sheet, income statement, trial balance accurately and on time
  • R eview monthly analysis and reconciliation s of key financial accounts
  • Compile and analyze business unit budgets and forecast through collaboration with commercial, people and other teams across the organization
  • Identify and investigate fluctuations in financial information (actual vs budget/forecasts; budget/forecasts vs targets), working with business unit personnel as needed
  • Research unusual transactions, bring inconsistencies and problems to the attention of management
  • Submit financial information to parent company via consolidation software (SAP / Cartesis)
  • Report financial results to regional and worldwide headquarters via internal reporting tools
  • I mplement accounting policies and procedures to maintain compliance with section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley
  • Supervise and mentor more junior team members
  • Review and approval of online banking transactions
  • Ensure intercompany transactions are captured and reported correctly
  • Participate in both annual external and internal audits of respective business unit
  • Participate in the r oll-out of a new ERP , including system design and testing


Other Responsibilities
  • Special projects as requested by the business unit leadership, Controller, Regional headquarters or our parent company
  • Ad hoc reporting and analysis


Requirements
  • BS in Accounting , CPA certification
  • 6 - 10 years of combined public and private accounting experience
  • Strong technical and analytical skills
  • Detail orientated with the ability to investigate and resolve problems
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a high performing team in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departmental functions
  • Ex perience with Workday, Microsoft AX, Perceptive , SAP/Cartesis , Donovan Data Systems / Mediaocean a plus
