Department & Job Summary - Mindshare Strategy & Analytics

The Data & Platform Strategist partners with client leads to develop a platform-forward stra tegy for data-driven marketing - accelerating our clients' data-driven advantage to win the most valuable consumer moments more often . Typically operating at an enterprise level to drive consistency and standardization in platform selection, deployment, and best practice, they partner with the Customer Strategist to ensure data and tech solutions enable the strategy work. They will work in tandem with the Analytics and Activation teams to ensure clear, measurable KPIs are established and th at the data-led audience strategy is architected correctly to be executed and measured across all channels.

In addition to working with Mindshare's internal Planning and Activation teams, the Data & P latform Strategist will work with clients and their stakeholders to help create the bespoke tech stacks that will lay the foundation for executing adaptive marketing. They will also consult closely on the paid, owned, and earned media ecosystem to maximize customer engagements, connecting AdTech and MarTech to better u nderstand journeys and outcomes. To be successful in S&A , you need to bring a unique and future-oriented POV on marketing in a platform-based world and have a start-up mentality to help scale our data & strategy practices across our client roster. The team sits within the Mindshare Strategy & Analytics group, and reports to the CDSO.

  • Client commitment will frequently extend 1-2 clients or brands .
  • W ill be tasked with seeking out and vetting new data, technology and media partners across the industry that will help support our communications and media strategies .
  • W ill lead capital projects to continuously evolve our offering
  • Must possess a unique set of analytical, technical, and communication skills, as they are responsible for clearly articulating the detail behind the data and technology that inform and power adaptive marketing strategies.
  • A degree of regular travel to client locations and other NA Mindshare offices may be necessary.

Specifics of Role :

The Data & P latform Strategist is a digital native with a deep understanding of the marketing tech ecosystem as well as the programmatic and addressable media landscape . They understand and value the principles of performance marketing, but understand that consumer journeys are dynamic and delivering against those journeys most effectively requires a full-funnel approach to marketing. They provide e nterprise-level Data Strategy and Partnership approach, advise on Platform selection and integration whilst also supporting Brand-level enablement .

  • Develop and maintain Data & Tech Value Ro admap relevant to achieving client business outcomes, create and communicate the playbook for media relative to scope; Apply to roadmap and playbook to specific b rand strategies as necessary
  • Define media-centric use cases for each platform in scope relative to client business needs, and retain accountability for meeting those use cases
  • Oversee day to day operation of specific ad and mar-tech platforms used by the client, which may include DMP, analytics and targeting/personalization platforms
  • Ensure strategically sound and successful integration of all platforms in scope, as well as integrating those platform capabilities with platforms not in direct purview (e.g. ensure DMP connection with DSP for maximum efficiency)
  • Set and reach platform value benchmarks to help client realize return on investment
  • Deliver regular evaluation and thought leadership around platforms (both in scope and not), data sources and ecosystem integration, helping clients determine where their next data, platform , and strategic investments should be
  • Help drive data-driven marketing vision across teams both within Mindshare and among client groups
  • Oversee syndication of audiences for activation, analytics and any other uses required by client
  • Facilitate testing scenarios alongside client, Investment and Marketing Sciences contributing to learning opportunities
  • Act as a key arbiter in vetting data partners and new technologies to expand our audience -led strategies
  • Partner internally to e volve ways of working to integrate more data driven techniques into our media planning process
  • Produce data, platform education sessions in respect to client use cases for internal and external teams
  • Identify capabilities or offerings for the group to develop based on recognition of client needs
  • Directly m anage subordinate platfor m operations experts, and indirect support of audience strategy and activation teams.

What you've already conquered:
  • Deep experience in digital strategy, media, ad tech/mar tech operation and applied programmatic knowledge
  • Previous hands-on use of a DMP (SF D C DMP, AAM, etc.) and analytics platforms
  • Ability to leverage disparate data sets into strategic media approaches
  • Experience in developing and owning client data & technology platform roadmaps
  • Demonstrated industry expertise, publicly available examples preferred (white papers, keynotes, etc.)
  • Minimum of six years' experience in related roles, with cl ient facing experience required
  • Understanding of various media activation channels (social, search, programmatic, shopper, endemic, TV)
  • Ability to foster collaborative relationships with other cross-functional teams
  • Strong and demonstrable analytic and problem solving skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize competing projects and deliverables
  • Basic understanding of measurement tools such as : Media Mix Models, Multi-Touch Attribution, Sales Lift and Brand Studies
  • Strategic understanding of digital technologies, such as: DSPs, CDPs, DMPs, Social Ad Platforms, Ad Verification Platforms, and Ad Servers
