What's your role-

You will be responsible for bringing the media strategy to life across offline channels and ensure you deliver best in market amplification and negotiations that drive the client's budget hard. With well established relationships with all Perth media partners, you will be empowered to develop go-to-market trading strategies, delivering on all client objectives and smashing benchmarks.

Key roles and responsibilities:

Product
  • Demonstrate a robust knowledge of the Australian media industry including West and East coast intricacies
  • Use industry and bespoke agency tools to understand audience, category and client insights to develop channel and campaign approaches
  • Detailed understanding of the role of each channel and thoroughly competent in trading across all
  • Manage the accurate delivery of campaigns as well as excellent written and verbal presentation of results internally and to clients
  • Follows AKQA's trading processes including the accurate completion of all trading analysis ensuring trading strategies and contractual agreements are met
  • Develop integrated relationships with AKQA media client teams and provide reciprocal sharing of knowledge
Profile
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key partners including media owners, creative teams and clients
  • Communicate regularly with media, replying promptly to emails/phone calls and managing timeline expectations
  • Communicate in professional and timely manner, taking ownership for media relationships
  • Be an expert in all offline media channels and digital advocate while sharing expertise with clients and broader department and agency
  • Build your profile through writing or contributing to agency opinion pieces
  • Ensure timely feedback is given to all media partners on all briefs
People
  • Attend and provide insightful input into group/team WIPs, agency discussions, channel chat and media owner presentations and share your knowledge with wider Union team
  • Mentor coordinators and input into their career development, briefing new work tasks and dedicating time to develop them
Profit
  • Accurate management of budgets, always adhering to finance processes
  • Regular involvement in Finance process including regular budget reconciliation and other checks
Technical capabilities
  • Minimum 2-3 years media experience
  • Working knowledge of the Media Planning & Buying process
  • Experience in utilising investment trading and analysis tools
  • Understanding of investment best practices

In your role...

In 3 months:
  • Be comfortable understanding all about your client and the AKQA Media trading process
  • Have developed relationships with all relevant reps in market
In 6 months:
  • Build strong relationships across client and team - across coasts
  • Involvement in development of integrated output and delivery of campaigns from planning through to execution
  • Self-sufficiently managing the implementation and delivery of campaigns and proactively managing up any opportunities or issues
In 12 months:
  • Become the master of your patch, identify and scope out proactive first to market opportunities or optimisations
  • Analyse and recommend on sponsorship and partnership opportunities
  • Have executed negotiations on ad-hoc campaigns and assisted on major negotiations
