As a digital analyst intern, you'll jump right in, uncovering insights and delivering actionable recommendations for a range of amazing clients. You'll use marketing analytics to develop analytics implementation and optimization plans essential to our clients' overall business strategies.

You'll help design and execute measurement and optimization plans that capture appropriate performance metrics and increase ROI. You'll also help with social listening, brand and audience research, competitive analysis, and user behavior evaluation.

What You'll Be Doing

Strategic Guidance
  • Working with VMLY&R account teams and clients to understand and document business, technical, and reporting requirements, and develop analytics solutions to ensure success
  • Helping clients expand their usage of analytics tools and drive internal client user adoption
  • Assisting clients with tracking and enhancement of online and offline marketing efforts
  • Assisting with social listening, audience research and competitive analysis

Analytical Support
  • Defining site/campaign marketing metrics related to channel and analytics dashboards with input from agency/client; analyzing and reporting holistically on a weekly basis
  • Creating, reviewing and submitting weekly insight reports for overall marketing dashboards, including metrics definitions and suggestions for further analysis
  • Exhibiting high-level expertise working with multiple data sources (site analytics, social, media, email, transactional, traditional media, etc.) to analyze performance of campaigns and marketing efforts and make recommendations for improvements
  • Defining and managing optimization tagging, including web, email, online display media, etc., to ensure continuity across tracking and reporting
  • Supporting all facets of the decision-making platform (clickstream, outcomes, analysis, search analysis, multivariate analysis, etc.), and working with web technology teams to identify gaps in data capture strategy and collaboratively implement enhancements
  • Working with web testing teams to define, execute, analyze, and present results of A/B and multivariate tests to marketing leaders and team members
  • Assisting with analysis of social conversation, channel performance, audience behavior, competitor performance, etc.

Required Skills & Experience
  • BA or BS; MBA preferred (quantitative coursework like mathematics and/or statistics a plus, but not required)
  • One-plus years of web metrics experience, including experience implementing and using Adobe or similar tools such as Google Analytics, etc.
  • Experience with Excel- or SQL-based solutions
  • Understanding of SEM/PPC, SEO and online campaigns
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of end users and technical resources
