Production Director

Role

Our client is one of the world's most recognised brands. A global technology company who

consistently delivers innovation combined with beautiful design.

Reporting into the Head of Delivery, the Production Director will work closely with the Project

Director and Studio Leads to manage the operations and workflow of a large specialist

localisation studio which delivers EU campaigns of the highest quality.

The Production Director will manage and oversee the utilization of both internal and external

resource to ensure all project teams are balanced and able to deliver across all functions.

Working in a fast-paced environment, they will be adept at reacting quickly to changing needs and

will have direct experience working across print, digital and localisation teams. The role requires

someone who has a hands-on approach and can lead, support and inspire an established team.

Key Responsibilities

Process and Operations
• Overall responsibility for the production studios delivery output and resource
• Ensuring the studio is setup for success and future-proofed
• Build, manage and retain a knowledgeable, productive team who feel supported and

motivated
• Develop and evolve the way we currently estimate resource requirements, managing

studio resource allocation against volume demand
• Successfully implement the associated team requirements e.g. training, IT and

infrastructure
• Key POC for clients, Studio Leads and the Project Director
• Primary owner of process and workflow mapping; ensuring all are documented,

streamlined and responsive to evolving scope
• Drive continuous improvement by reviewing production data; present recommendations

to drive efficiencies, clearly showing the business benefit, risk analysis and steps required

to implement
• Be the go-to person for all studio escalations both internally and client side
• Chair pipeline, SOT and studio meetings
• Provide necessary data for budgets and reforecasting
• Act as a brand Guardian.

Collaboration
• Build strong client relationships and establish yourself as a trusted subject matter expert
• Communicate clearly with clients on recommendations and solutions as part of planning,

briefing and business review sessions
• Work closely with the Global Optimization Director and GEO Production Leads to share

best practices and represent EU as part of any global initiatives
• Build internal relationships across the team (Language, Project Management, Finance,

HR, Operations) and ensure co-operation of the team with other agency functions to

share/implement best practices
• Keep Head of Delivery informed of any circumstances which would positively or

negatively affect forecasts.

Leadership
• Inspire and empower the team, ensuring work is effectively delegated and individuals

take full ownership and responsibility for their function
• Champion Hogarth culture across the studio; a guardian of our values
• Ensure the studio team is cross trained and kept up to date with new ways of working
• Create balanced work schedules and an inclusive, flexible and collaborative environment

where individuals can thrive and develop
• Manage your team's performance reviews and development. Set SMART objectives

including L&D targets and promote relevant courses in LUMOS. Look for opportunities to

expand their experience and conduct regular check-ins. Work with HR to implement a

robust succession plan across the team
• Inspire and proactively strive to get the best out of each team member, offer coaching

and new opportunities to expand skill sets.

Strategy and Financials
• Work with the Global Business Director and Head of Delivery to build out a future facing

studio model that delivers on the client's evolving needs
• Consult on business growth opportunities and facilitate integration of wider business

objectives
• Use data and insights to drive improvement and innovation
• Work with Studio Leads and wider team to identify opportunities to automate or

introduce tools and improved processes and practices that enhance efficiency
• Keep up to date on studio production innovations and tools and look to pilot and

optimise where applicable
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the Hogarth business model, services, and

technology
• Provide necessary data for budgets and reforecasts.

Requirements
• Solid agency experience gained working on studio production for corporate clients
• An appreciation for how great work gets done and a commitment to ensuring flawless

execution
• Proven team management experience, specifically around developing and nurturing

talent, preferably in an agency environment
• Strong knowledge of print and digital artwork production processes with experience

across Adobe Creative Suite
• Localised campaign experience for EU and/or global brands
• Confident in liaising with senior client stakeholders
• Experience of driving change and governance across cross-functional teams
• Experience in financial management; understands the importance of accurate financial

forecasting
• Excellent spreadsheet and presentation skills in Excel, Numbers and Keynote
• Demonstratable recruitment expertise working across perm and temp marketplace
• Flexible, creative, solution-oriented individual with impeccable attention to detail, an

ability to think analytically and a passion for the work
• The ability to prioritize and work quickly and efficiently within very tight time frames
• Experience managing satellite teams would be advantageous.
