As we progress on this journey, we need to establish a new and refreshed IT Asset Management backbone to our technology organisation to support our transformation. You will be responsible for the vision through to execution, so that we are able to optimise our asset base and at the same time reduce risk. You'll build a team of SMEs and underpinning capabilities from the ground-up, ensuring we are future ready and deploying best practice on the IT E2E asset lifecycle.

What you'll be doing:
  • Define, own, and deliver a new ITAM roadmap spanning strategy, policies, processes, and practices across the full range of IT assets within WPP
  • Build a new ITAM capability that can provide expertise, leadership and direction to our global technology leadership, project, and engineering teams
  • Design and develop both the discovery and build of a new CMDB, and then strategically develop our tooling and methods for automated discovery
  • Oversee and manage the E2E IT asset portfolio (asset & hardware) with respect to risk, cost control, governance compliance and performance including periodic audits
  • Design, implement and drive organisational adoption of new asset lifecycle processes from acquisition to disposal
  • Establish practices to ensure accurate and timely reporting, including data completeness and quality supported by proactive internal audits
  • Develop insight-rich reporting and MI on our technology asset data to support strategic decision making and ongoing optimisation and risk management
  • Manage and remediate IT asset risks, including leading responses to software license compliance audits
  • Maintain awareness of external market developments for ITAM (best practice, technology, and commercial) to assess for potential impacts or opportunities
  • Build strong relationships with the external stakeholders (customers, suppliers, other major bodies) as well as build a network of peers to bring innovation and insights to WPP IT on the latest tools, techniques, and processes to deliver a future-fit ITAM capability
  • Design and deliver a range of educational activities and material to embed a strong ITAM capability across our technology teams

What you'll need:
  • Degree in engineering, computer science, finance or equivalent (i.e. MBA) desirable but not essential
  • Minimum 3 year working in an IT Asset Management role
  • Minimum 3 years in a leadership role
  • Relevant certification(s) in asset management
  • Strong experience and background in IT Asset Management disciplines
  • Expert analytical skills with the ability to gather, analyse and interpret significant amounts of information accurately
  • Track record of building / leading diverse, high performing, teams from the ground up and comfortable working with autonomy
  • Expert communicator with a track record of operating, partnering with and influencing up to and including exec-level stakeholders and ability to translate technical information to a non-technical audience
  • Able to lead highly complex programmes across multiple units and geographies with high-pressure deliverable
  • Ability to operate and lead in a fast-paced organizational transformation and able to navigate and champion change across organisational / geographical complexity
  • Experience with Service Now CMDB or equivalents
  • Demonstratable experience in contract negotiation and dealing with software audit defence
