Why we're hiring:

The Category Manager - IT & Telco will deliver global category plans, sourcing events and commercial contract management across both these IT categories. There is an opportunity to rationalise spend and suppliers by driving a commercially led transformation agenda.

What you'll be doing:

Key responsibilities include:
  • Provide deep category knowledge and insight in allocated category area(s)
  • Deliver category plans, category sourcing events and commercial contract management for centrally managed and led categories
  • Develop and share category strategies and IP for centrally led categories
  • Develop effective relationships with key functional stakeholders
  • Support adoption of the commercial and procurement ways of working, policies, and processes within central category teams
  • Build constructive, collaborative relationships with colleagues
  • Lead major category projects
  • Identify and manage category level risks
  • Provide SME category support as required

This role will report to WPP's Head of Procurement - IT & Telco

Who you will be doing it with:

Key External Relationships:
  • Suppliers
  • Professional and Industry Groups

Key Internal Relationships:
  • Procurement Operations
  • Business stakeholders
  • Responsible Procurement
  • Procurement Regional Lead

What you'll need:
  • IT Services and Telco experience in a similar sized, global business
  • Demonstrate ownership of IT services and Telco negotiations and contracting. Can articulate key strategies for maximising the value proposition
  • Specialist category management experience
  • Senior stakeholder management experience in a complex environment
  • Ability to influence and manage stakeholder change
  • Experience in running large / complex sourcing activities
  • Evidence of responsible / sustainable procurement initiatives

  • % Category spend influenced
  • Contribution to cost reduction targets and avoidance
