Wunderman Thompson's PHP Developer (with some Node.js and TypeScript knowledge or willingness to learn it) is responsible for the professional development of different types of creative and business applications. The developer is working together with the Technology team, the UX/UI team, the Project Management team and also occasionally with client team members. What you'll do:
  • Participate in software planning activities with the support of senior developers
  • Implement PHP / Node.js based applications
  • Be up to date with technology trends, development practices
  • Follow WT's coding standards, use merge requests, code reviews, write unit tests
  • Do proper self-testing on your own implementations
  • Use JIRA for managing tasks, filling correct timesheet reports
  • Use Confluence for sharing project related information
  • Proactively take part and clearly communicate through the full project development lifecycle
  • Create handover documentations in case of absences
What you need to have:
  • 2+ years' experience as a PHP developer.
  • Some Node.js and TypeScript knowledge or the willingness to learn it
  • Knowledge of REST
  • Passion for learning new development practices, patterns and tools
  • Knowledge of using some IDE (WebStorm or PHPStorm is preferred)
  • Ability to use some of the common PHP framework like Laminas / Mezzio, Symfony, Laravel
  • Experience in using database systems
  • Experience in version control
  • Ability to follow clean code practices
  • Understand HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Medium verbal and written communication skills in English
Jump to the front of the queue if you have:
  • Experience in designing and implementing RESTful APIs
  • Experience in NodeJS frameworks (e.g. NestJS)
  • Ability to create unit and integration tests
  • Experience in integrating 3rd party systems and services
  • Experience in using cloud services
