Role Summary & Impact

The GroupM summer internship is a 10-week experiential learning opportunity that includes learning opportunities, engagement with industry professionals, mentorship, exposure to global brands, and gaining technical and professional skills to help you become successful for a career in media .

GroupM media teams collaborate together to budget, plan, optimize and execute multi-million-dollar online campaigns. It's here, as our intern, you will develop skills in one of our key disciplines: Media Planning, Media Buying/Digital Investment, Programmatic, Analytics/Data Science, Paid Search (SEM), Paid Social, etc. based upon business needs .

Interns collaborate with their peers, present a collaborative culminating final project, engage with our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and other employer partner civic activities, and contribute to the assigned client teams' success and our organizational culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Media Career Pathway Exploration: Participate in a 10-week, full time, paid hybrid internship working alongside other advertising enthusiasts to discover what media has to offer within one of our operating agencies (GroupM Nexus, Mindshare, EssenceMediacom , Wavemaker)
  • Team Collaboration and Business Impact: Work alongside industry professionals on actual client projects and make an impactful contribution to the overall success of the client team
  • Data Analysis: Gain exposure to useful analytical and media tools such as Google AdWords, Google Analytics, Nielsen, ComScore and a range of other tech used in our business including frequent use of Excel to maintain complex spreadsheets
  • Group Project and Presentation: Collaborate with fellow peers for a collaborative final intern project and presentation related to business and/or client need


  • We welcome enthusiastic candidates interested in: Media, Advertising, Marketing, Business and/or Communication and will be based in either NYC, CHI, or LA from June - August 2024 and seeking full-time employment post-internship as early as January 2025. Most likely you are entering your junior or senior year of college, as we are passionate about DEI in the advertising/media industry, a college degree is not required . (Graduating seniors are encouraged to check our careers site for full-time entry-level opportunities.)
  • Appreciation and enjoyment for numbers, statistics, and data, including Excel, as a part of your daily responsibilities, combined with a passion to solve problems and improve initiatives using insights.

  • Must be available to work a full-time hybrid schedule from 9am-6pm: remotely, Mondays and Fridays, and in-person on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays

The compensation for this position at the time of this posting is $20/hour. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications.
